The Lemon Cleanse Diet which is also known as the Master Cleanse, Lemonade diet, Maple Syrup Diet or the Lemon Detox Diet is the latest “in vogue” diet plan. It is basically a detox diet plan where you replace all solid foods with a drink essentially made from maple syrup, lemon and water. The lemon cleanse diet has been pushed into the limelight due to heavy exposure on American and UK TV plus the fact that many celebrities have publically endorsed the diet.

You may be surprise to know the  Lemon Cleanse Diet is not a new diet. It has actually been in use for over 50 years although not widely practised in the western world until recent years.

Is the Lemon Cleanse Diet safe? Well I believe for most is it but for a small percentage it seems it may not be. We are all unique so in my opinion nobody should even contemplate starting this diet until they have consulted their doctor.

Most who start the Lemon Cleanse Diet fail to finish it. Statistics suggest that over 80% fail to keep on the diet for more than 48 hours. Most fail to prepare to start the diet in the right manner. Remember this is a very hard diet to complete. Without proper preparation you vastly reduce your chances of completing the diet.

If you manage to stick to the Lemon Cleanse Diet for a week (many suggest a week is the most you should use this diet for) then you will lose weight.  This is a fact as you are in effect not eating any solid foods. Most lose 4 to 8 pounds in 7 days.
